I knew that one of the national parks had established some new trails that I had not yet had the chance to go visit.
So when the rest of the family declared the house a female zone (girlfriend, two daughters + my girlfriend’s friend and her two daughters) that weekend. I was off to hike some trails.
Some trails was new to me and some was well known.
The rain was well known as well 😉 But the second day I got to see the sun most of the time.
Being solo, I get to set the pace myself.
Sometimes I was moving fast.
Sometimes I was shocked by the beauty of the landscape and was just standing there watching the scenery.
I truly enjoy solo hiking and biking once in a while. And last month I went bikepacking with a friend, som this month I was off to enjoy my own company.
This type of outdoor adventure could qualify as a Microadventure as you could
- Explore new trails
- Get out there when the weather is very windy and rainy
- You have not planned where to sleep
- You start hiking in daylight and keep going after dark
